The Brandweerevent (formerly known as the Brandweercongres) is a yearly event where individuals and organizations from the firefighting field come together to discuss recent fire operations, new technologies in the field and current topics that affect firefighters all throughout the country. The event is a platform for dialogue for the future of firefighting, and takes place over two days full of interesting lectures, talks and presentations.

This is something we relate closely to here in the Teijin Smart Safety team. Creating new, innovative products that assist and protect those who protect our communities is not just our mission, it is our passion. That’s why we’ve decided to open a booth at the Brandweerevent this year. Our focus will be on the Active Cooling Vest – our solution to heat exhaustion in fields where heat is a potentially fatal obstacle.

The Active Cooling Vest is a battery-powered, lightweight clothing garment that cools you down simply by amplifying your body’s own cooling mechanism. The Vest is completely plug-and-play. You simply insert the charged battery and the vest supports your body for up to six hours of uninterrupted use. Since firefighters are some of the people who have to battle heat the most, our Active Cooling Vest can make the difference between relative comfort and potential heat exhaustion.
